Europa League 2016-17 : Schalke 04 defeats Nice 2-0

GELSENKIRCHEN, Nov. 24, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Schalke 04 defeated Nice by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen.

Schalke 04 dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Konoplyanka Yevhen in the 14th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Royal Blues further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Aogo on penalty with just 10 minutes remaining in regulation time.

The result put Schalke 04 top of Group I with 15 points. Nice is bottom with 3 points. In their last game, Schalke 04 will meet third-placed Red Bull Salzburg at the Veltins-Arena on December 8, while Nice will face Krasnodar.
