Europa League 2016-17 : Southampton beats Sparta 3-0

SOUTHAMPTON, Sep. 15, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Southampton defeated Sparta Prague by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the St Mary's Stadium in Southampton.

Charlie Austin scored dual goals

Southampton dominated the first half thanks to goals from Austin ('5 on penalty, '27). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Saints further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Rodriguez in stoppage time.

The result put Southampton top of Group K with 3 points. In their next game, Southampton will meet second-placed Hapoel Be'er Sheva at the St Mary's Stadium on September 29, while Sparta Prague will face Inter Milan.
