VILLARREAL, Dec. 8, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Villarreal defeated Steaua Bucuresti by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday afternoon at the El Madrigal stadium in Villarreal.
Villarreal dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Italian forward Nicola Sansone in the 15th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, El Submarino Amarillo further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Trigueros Manuel with just 2 minutes remaining in regulation time.
