Europa League 2016-17 : Olympiacos draw 1-1 with Besiktas

ATHENS, Mar. 9, 2017 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Olympiacos tied 1-1 with Besiktas (halftime: 1-0), in the first leg of a round of 16 game on Thursday night at the Karaiskakis Stadium in Athens.

Olympiacos players started off well by taking the lead thanks to Argentine midfielder Esteban Cambiasso in the 36th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Besiktas with a saving goal from Cameroonian forward Vincent Aboubakar in the 53rd minute.

The second leg between Olympiacos and Besiktas will be played on Thursday March 16, 2017 (kick-off: 19:00) in Istanbul.
