Europa League 2016-17 : Schalke 04 beats PAOK 3-0

THESSALONIKI, Feb. 16, 2017 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 : Schalke 04 defeated PAOK by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in the first leg of a round of 32 game on Thursday night at the Toumba Stadium in Thessaloniki.

Schalke 04 dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Austrian forward Guido Burgstaller in the 27th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Royal Blues further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Meyer '82 and Huntelaar Klaas-jan '89).

The second leg between PAOK and Schalke 04 will be played on Wednesday February 22, 2017 (kick-off: 18:00) in Gelsenkirchen.
