ASTANA, Aug. 18, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 (Qualifiers) : FC Astana defeated BATE Borisov by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in the first leg of a Europa League qualifier tie on Thursday afternoon at the Astana Arena.

45 minutes of play and neither FC Astana nor BATE Borisov have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Kabananga Junior ('70) and Nurgaliev Azat ('80).

The second leg between FC Astana and BATE Borisov will be played on Thursday August 25, 2016 (kick-off: 20:00) in Borisov.
