Europa League 2016-17 Qualifiers : Maccabi defeats Hajduk 2-1

NETANYA, Aug. 18, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 (Qualifiers) : Maccabi Tel Aviv defeated Hajduk Split by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in the first leg of a Europa League qualifier tie on Thursday night.

Maccabi Tel Aviv dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Alberman Gal in the 9th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the “Yellows” further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Scarione Ezequiel in the 77th minute.

The second leg between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hajduk Split will be played on Thursday August 25, 2016 (kick-off: 20:30) in Split.
