Europa League 2016-17 Qualifiers : Sassuolo beats Red Star 3-0

REGGIO EMILIA, Aug. 18, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 (Qualifiers) : Sassuolo defeated Red Star Belgrade by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in the first leg of a Europa League qualifier tie on Thursday night.

Sassuolo dominated the first half thanks to goals from Berardi ('17) and Politano Matteo ('41). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Neroverdi further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Defrel in the 69th minute.

The second leg between Sassuolo and Red Star Belgrade will be played on Thursday August 25, 2016 (kick-off: 20:30) in Belgrade.
