Europa League 2016-17 Qualifiers : Sassuolo held to a 1-1 draw by Red Star but qualifies for Europa League
BELGRADE, Aug. 25, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 (Qualifiers) : Red Star Belgrade tied 1-1 with Sassuolo (halftime: 0-1), in the second leg of a qualifying game on Thursday night at the Red Star Stadium in Belgrade.
Sassuolo players started off well by taking the lead thanks to Sassuolo forward Domenico Berardi in the 28th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Red Star Belgrade with a saving goal from Katai Aleksandar in the 54th minute.
Sassuolo, who won the first leg (3-0), secured their ticket to the Europa League finals. Red Star is eliminated.Fixtures and Results : Play-off
