Europa League 2016-17 Qualifiers : Shakhtar beats Istanbul Basaksehir 2-0 to qualify for Europa League
LVIV, Aug. 25, 2016 (AMP) — Europa League 2016-17 (Qualifiers) : Shakhtar Donetsk defeated Istanbul Basaksehir by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in the second leg of a qualifying game on Thursday night at the Arena Lviv.
Shakhtar Donetsk dominated the first half as a result of the unfortunate own goal scored by Attamah Joseph in the 23rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the “Hirnyky” further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Marlos Bonfim on penalty in the 71st minute.
Shakhtar, who won the first leg (2-1), secured their ticket to the Europa League finals. Istanbul Basaksehir is eliminated.Fixtures and Results : Play-off
