Europa League 2017-18 : Villarreal beats Slavia 2-0

PRAGUE, Nov. 2, 2017 (AMP) — Europa League 2017-18 : Villarreal defeated Slavia Prague by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Eden Arena in Prague.

Villarreal dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Colombian forward Carlos Bacca in the 15th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, El Submarino Amarillo further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Deli into his own net with one minute left in regular time.

The result put Villarreal top of Group A with 8 points. Slavia is third with 5 points. In their next game, Villarreal will meet second-placed FC Astana at the Eden Arena on November 23, while Slavia Prague will face Maccabi Tel Aviv.
