Europa League 2017-18 : Rijeka defeats Austria Vienna 3-1

VIENNA, Oct. 19, 2017 (AMP) — Europa League 2017-18 : Rijeka defeated Austria Vienna by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna.

Mario Gavranović scored dual goals

Rijeka dominated the first half thanks to goals from Gavranović ('21, '31). Leading 2-0 at the break, the “Rijecki bijeli” further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Kvržić in stoppage time.

The result put Rijeka third in Group D with 3 points. Austria Vienna is bottom with one point. In their next game, Rijeka will meet Austria Vienna at the Ernst Happel Stadium on November 2, while Austria Vienna will face Rijeka.
