Europa League 2017-18 : Atalanta defeats Apollon 3-1

REGGIO EMILIA, Oct. 19, 2017 (AMP) — Europa League 2017-18 : Atalanta defeated Apollon Limassol by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Mapei Stadium-Città del Tricolore in Reggio Emilia.

Atalanta dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Slovenian midfielder Josip Iličić in the 12th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, La Dea further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Petagna '64 and Freuler Remo '66).

The result put Atalanta top of Group E with 7 points. Apollon is third with 2 points. In their next game, Atalanta will meet third-placed Apollon Limassol at the Mapei Stadium-Città del Tricolore on November 2, while Apollon Limassol will face Atalanta.
