Europa League 2017-18 : Steaua Bucuresti beats Lugano 2-1

LUCERNE, Sep. 28, 2017 (AMP) — Europa League 2017-18 : Steaua Bucuresti defeated Lugano by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Swissporarena in Lucerne.

Lugano had started off well by taking the lead in the 14th minute with a goal by Bottani Mattia. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the “Ros-Albastrii” nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Budescu Constantin '58 and Morais Junior '64).

The result put Steaua Bucuresti top of Group G with 6 points. Lugano is bottom with no points. In their next game, Steaua Bucuresti will meet second-placed Hapoel Be'er Sheva at the Swissporarena on October 19, while Lugano will face Viktoria Plzen.
