BORISOV, Sep. 28, 2017 (AMP) — Europa League 2017-18 : Arsenal defeated BATE Borisov by a score of 4-2 (halftime: 3-1), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Borisov Arena.
Theo Walcott scored dual goals
Arsenal dominated the first half thanks to goals from Walcott ('9, '22) and Holding Rob ('25). Leading 3-1 at the break, the Gunners further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Giroud on penalty in the 49th minute.
The result put Arsenal top of Group H with 6 points. BATE is third with one point. In their next game, Arsenal will meet second-placed Red Star Belgrade at the Borisov Arena on October 19, while BATE Borisov will face FC Köln.
