Europa League 2017-18 : Zenit beats Vardar 5-0

SKOPJE, Sep. 14, 2017 (AMP) — Europa League 2017-18 : Zenit St Petersburg defeated Vardar by a big score of 5-0 (halftime: 3-0), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Philip II Arena in Skopje.

Aleksandr Kokorin scored dual goals

Zenit St Petersburg dominated the first half thanks to goals from Kokorin ('6, '21) and Dzyuba ('39). Leading 3-0 at the break, the “Blue-White-Sky Blues” further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Ivanović '66 and Rigoni '89).

The result put Zenit top of Group L with 3 points. In their next game, Zenit St Petersburg will meet second-placed Real Sociedad at the Philip II Arena on September 28, while Vardar will face Rosenborg.
