Europa League 2017-18 : Zenit beats Real Sociedad 3-1

SAINT PETERSBURG, Sep. 28, 2017 (AMP) — Europa League 2017-18 : Zenit St Petersburg defeated Real Sociedad by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-1), in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night at the Krestovsky Stadium in Saint Petersburg.

Aleksandr Kokorin scored dual goals

Zenit St Petersburg dominated the first half thanks to goals from Rigoni ('5) and Kokorin ('24). Leading 2-1 at the break, the “Blue-White-Sky Blues” further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Kokorin in the 60th minute.

The result put Zenit top of Group L with 6 points. Real Sociedad is second with 3 points. In their next game, Zenit St Petersburg will meet third-placed Rosenborg at the Krestovsky Stadium on October 19, while Real Sociedad will face Vardar.
