STOKE, Jan. 7, 2017 (AMP) — FA Cup 2016-17 : Wolverhampton Wanderers defeated Stoke City by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in the FA Cup third round on Saturday afternoon.

Wolverhampton Wanderers dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Costa Helder in the 29th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Wolves further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Doherty Matt with just 10 minutes remaining in regulation time.

Wolverhampton Wanderers advance to the fourth round of the FA Cup. Stoke City is eliminated.
