International Friendly : Costa Rica beats Uruguay in shoot out

MONTEVIDEO, Nov. 13, 2014 (AMP) — Costa Rica defeated Uruguay on penalties 7-6, after the match ended 0-0 in regulation time, in a friendly match on Thursday afternoon at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo.

The score was still 0-0 at the end of the regulation game time and overtime, after goals from Saborio ('42), Ruiz ('51) and Venegas ('90) for Costa Rica and Suarez ('50), Gimenez ('65) and Cavani ('68) for Uruguay. The Costa Ricans finally emerged the victors in the penalty shootout session by winning 7-6.
