Panama beats Cuba to advance to Gold Cup semifinals
ATLANTA, Jul. 20, 2013 (AMP) — USA 2013 : Panama reached the semifinals of the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup with a 6-1 win against Cuba (halftime: 2-1) on Saturday afternoon at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
G. Torres and B. Pérez scored dual goals
Cuba opened the score in the score in the 21st minute thanks to Alfonso, before Panama regained the advantage with G. Torres ('25 on penalty, '37). Leading 2-1 at the break, the Panamanians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring four times (C. Rodríguez '68, B. Pérez '78, '88 and Jiménez '85).
