USA beats Honduras to reach Gold Cup final
ARLINGTON, Jul. 24, 2013 (AMP) — USA 2013 : The United States reached the CONCACAF Gold Cup final for the ninth time in their history with a 3-1 win against Honduras (halftime: 2-0) on Wednesday night at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.
Landon Donovan scored dual goals
The United States dominated the first half thanks to goals from Johnson ('11) and Donovan ('27). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Americans further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Donovan in the 53rd minute.
