Panama beats Trinidad and Tobago in shoot out to advance to Gold Cup semifinals
EAST RUTHERFORD, Jul. 19, 2015 (AMP) — USA 2015 : Panama reached the semifinals of the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup after defeating Trinidad and Tobago 6-5 on penalties (after a 1-1 draw) on Sunday afternoon at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.
The score was still 1-1 at the end of the regulation game time and overtime, after goals from Tejada ('36) for Panama and Kenwyne Jones ('53) for Trinidad and Tobago. The Panamanians finally emerged the victors in the penalty shootout session by winning 6-5.
