ATLANTA, Jul. 22, 2015 (AMP) — USA 2015 : Mexico reached the CONCACAF Gold Cup final for the eighth time in their history courtesy of a 2-1 extra time victory over Panama (following a 1-1 draw in regulation) on Wednesday night at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

Andrés Guardado scored dual goals

The score was still 1-0 for Panama at the end of overtime, when an unexpected goal from Guardado in the 100th minute allowed Mexico to equalize and just squeeze through to overtime. In the 106th minute, it was ultimately the Mexican defender Andrés Guardado who brought Mexico to victory by scoring on penalty the winning goal.
