Tottenham beats Newcastle to advance to League Cup semifinals

LONDON, Dec. 17, 2014 (AMP) — League Cup 2014-15 : Tottenham reached the semifinals of the League Cup with a 4-0 win against Newcastle (halftime: 1-0) on Wednesday night at White Hart Lane in London.

Tottenham dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Algerian midfielder Nabil Bentaleb in the 18th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Spurs further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Chadli '46, Kane '65 and Soldado '70).
