League Cup 2014-15 : Burton beats Wigan Athletic 2-1 to qualify for next round
BURTON, Aug. 12, 2014 (AMP) — League Cup 2014-15 : Burton Albion defeated Wigan Athletic by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in the League Cup first round on Tuesday night.
Wigan Athletic forward Marc-Antoine Fortuné opened the score in the 27th minute, before seeing Burton Albion catch up in the 45th minute thanks to Knowles. 1-1 at half time. The Brewers eventually won the game in the second period with with a goal by Beavon in the 52nd minute.
