League Cup 2014-15 : Walsall beats Southend 2-1 to qualify for next round

SOUTHEND-ON-SEA, Aug. 12, 2014 (AMP) — League Cup 2014-15 : Walsall defeated Southend United by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in the League Cup first round on Tuesday night.

Walsall dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Benning in the 25th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Saddlers further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Morris with just 3 minutes remaining in regulation time.
