League Cup 2014-15 : Stoke City beats Sunderland 2-1 to qualify for next round
SUNDERLAND, Sep. 23, 2014 (AMP) — League Cup 2014-15 : Stoke City defeated Sunderland by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in the League Cup third round on Tuesday night at the the Stadium of Light in Sunderland.
Marc Muniesa scored dual goals
Sunderland forward Jozy Altidore opened the score in the 16th minute, before seeing Stoke City catch up in the 31st minute thanks to Marc Muniesa. 1-1 at half time. Stoke City eventually won the game in the second period with with another goal by Muniesa in the 71st minute.
