Man City beats Liverpool in shoot out to win League Cup
LONDON, Feb. 28, 2016 (AMP) — League Cup 2015-16 : Manchester City claimed the League Cup crown after defeating Liverpool 3-1 on penalties (after a 1-1 draw) in the final on Sunday afternoon at Wembley Stadium.
The score was still 1-1 at the end of the regulation game time and overtime, after goals from Fernandinho ('49) for Manchester City and Philippe Coutinho ('83) for Liverpool. The Citizens finally emerged the victors in the penalty shootout session by winning 3-1.
