Hull beats Newcastle in shoot out to advance to League Cup semifinals

HULL, Nov. 29, 2016 (AMP) — League Cup 2016-17 : Hull reached the semifinals of the League Cup after defeating Newcastle 3-1 on penalties (after a 1-1 draw) on Tuesday night.

The score was still 1-1 at the end of the regulation game time and overtime, after goals from Mohamed Diamé ('98) for Newcastle and Robert Snodgrass ('99) for Hull. Hull finally emerged the victors in the penalty shootout session by winning 3-1.
