League Cup 2016-17 : Coventry beats Portsmouth 3-2 in extra time to qualify for next round
Aug. 9, 2016 (AMP) — League Cup 2016-17 : Coventry City defeated Portsmouth 3-2 after extra time, in the League Cup first round on Tuesday night.
The score was still 2-1 for Coventry City five minutes from the end of regulation time, when an unexpected goal from Naismith Kal allowed Portsmouth to equalize and just squeeze through to overtime. In the 106th minute, it was ultimately Rose Andy who brought the Sky Blues to victory by scoring the winning goal.
Coventry City advance to the second round of the League Cup. Portsmouth is eliminated.Fixtures and Results : First round
