League Cup 2016-17 : Northampton beats West Brom in shoot out to qualify for next round
Aug. 23, 2016 (AMP) — League Cup 2016-17 : Northampton Town defeated West Brom on penalties 4-3, after the match ended 2-2 in regulation time, in the League Cup second round on Tuesday night.
The score was still 2-2 at the end of the regulation game time and overtime, after goals from Diamond Zander ('35) and Revell Alex ('82) for Northampton Town and Mcclean James ('45) and Mcauley Gareth ('47) for West Brom. The Cobblers finally emerged the victors in the penalty shootout session by winning 4-3.
