League Cup 2017-18 : Scunthorpe beats Notts in shoot out to qualify for next round

SCUNTHORPE, Aug. 8, 2017 (AMP) — League Cup 2017-18 : Scunthorpe United defeated Notts County on penalties 6-5, after the match ended 3-3 in regulation time, in the League Cup first round on Tuesday night.

The score was still 3-3 at the end of the regulation game time and overtime, after goals from Jorge Grant ('22), Brisley ('90) and Yates ('117) for Notts County and Madden ('69 on penalty, '105) and Holmes ('86) for Scunthorpe United. The Iron finally emerged the victors in the penalty shootout session by winning 6-5.
