OLDHAM, Aug. 9, 2017 (AMP) — League Cup 2017-18 : Burton Albion defeated Oldham Athletic by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 0-0), in the League Cup first round on Wednesday night.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Varney ('47), Lund ('69) and Akins ('86 on penalty).
