BOLTON, Aug. 22, 2017 (AMP) — League Cup 2017-18 : Bolton Wanderers defeated Sheffield Wednesday by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 1-0), in the League Cup second round on Tuesday night.

Bolton Wanderers dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by French defender Dorian Dervite in the 42nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Trotters further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Armstrong '57/penalty and Karacan '64).
