League Cup 2017-18 : Sunderland beats Carlisle 2-1 to qualify for next round

CARLISLE, Aug. 22, 2017 (AMP) — League Cup 2017-18 : Sunderland defeated Carlisle United by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in the League Cup second round on Tuesday night.

Sunderland dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Love in the 25th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Rokerites further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Gooch with just 10 minutes remaining in regulation time.
