Australia beats New Zealand 2-0 to win 2000 OFC Nations Cup
PAPEETE, Jun. 28, 2000 (AMP) — Tahiti 2000 : Australia claimed a third OFC Nations Cup crown with a 2-0 win against New Zealand (halftime: 1-0) in the final on Wednesday at the Stade Pater in Papeete.
Australia dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Shaun Murphy in the 40th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Australians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Craig Foster in the 66th minute.
