AUCKLAND, Jul. 14, 2002 (AMP) — New Zealand 2002 : New Zealand claimed a third OFC Nations Cup crown with a 1-0 win against Australia (halftime: 0-0) in the final on Sunday at the Ericsson Stadium in Auckland.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by New Zealand defender Ryan Nelsen in the 78th minute.
