ADELAIDE, May. 31, 2004 (AMP) — Australia 2004 : The Fiji defeated Vanuatu by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a OFC Nations Cup group stage game (Final Tournament) on Monday at the Hindmarsh Stadium in Adelaide.
45 minutes of play and neither the Fijians nor the Vanuatuans have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Toma in the 73rd minute.
The result put the Fijians second in the group with 4 points. Vanuatu is bottom with no points. In their next game, the Fiji will meet group leaders Australia at the Hindmarsh Stadium on June 2, while Vanuatu will face New Zealand.
