ADELAIDE, Jun. 2, 2004 (AMP) — Australia 2004 : The Solomon Islands defeated Tahiti by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 3-0), in a OFC Nations Cup group stage game (Final Tournament) on Wednesday at the Hindmarsh Stadium in Adelaide.
Menapi scored dual goals
The Solomon Islands dominated the first half thanks to goals from Fa'arodo ('9), Menapi ('14) and Batram Suri ('42). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Solomon Islanders further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Menapi with just 10 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Solomon Islander second in the group with 6 points. Tahiti is bottom with one point. In their next game, the Solomon Islands will meet third-placed the Fiji at the Hindmarsh Stadium on June 4, while Tahiti will face New Zealand.
