OFC Nations Cup 2008 : Fiji and New Caledonia tied at 3-3
BA, Nov. 17, 2007 (AMP) — 2008 : The Fiji tied 3-3 with New Caledonia (halftime: 2-0), in a OFC Nations Cup final round game (Final Tournament) on Saturday afternoon at the Govind Park in Ba.
The Fijians started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Nawatu ('2) and Vakatalesau ('27). However, even though they were leading 2-0 at half time, and despite Vakatalesau goal ('86) in the second period, they could not prevent a comeback by New Caledonia with goals by Gjamaci ('66), Kaudre ('83) and M. Hmaé ('87).
The result put the New Caledonians second in the group with one point. The Fiji is third with one point. In their next game, New Caledonia will meet third-placed the Fiji at the Govind Park on November 21, while the Fiji will face New Caledonia.
