OFC Nations Cup 2008 : New Caledonia beats Fiji 4-0
NOUMEA, Nov. 21, 2007 (AMP) — 2008 : New Caledonia defeated the Fiji by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a OFC Nations Cup final round game (Final Tournament) on Wednesday night at the Numa Daly Stadium in Noumea.
M. Hmaé scored dual goals
New Caledonia dominated the first half thanks to goals from Wajoka ('29) and M. Hmaé ('32). Leading 2-0 at the break, the New Caledonians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (M. Hmaé '61 and Mapou '64).
The result put the New Caledonians second in the group with 4 points. The Fiji is third with one point. In their next game, New Caledonia will meet Vanuatu at the Numa Daly Stadium on June 14, while the Fiji will face Vanuatu.
