BA, Sep. 6, 2008 (AMP) — 2008 : The Fiji defeated Vanuatu by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a OFC Nations Cup final round game (Final Tournament) on Saturday afternoon at the Govind Park in Ba.
The Fiji dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Kumar in the 7th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Fijians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Dunadamu with just 3 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Fijians third in the group with 4 points. Vanuatu is bottom with one point. In their next game, the Fiji will meet Vanuatu at the Govind Park on September 10, while Vanuatu will face the Fiji.
