HONIARA, Jun. 10, 2012 (AMP) — Solomon 2012 : New Zealand secured the consolation of third place at the 2012 OFC Nations Cup with a 4-3 win against the Solomon Islands (halftime: 3-0) on Sunday at the Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara.
Chris Wood scored tripple goals
New Zealand dominated the first half thanks to goals from Wood ('10, '24, '29). Leading 3-0 at the break, the New Zealanders further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Smeltz seconds before the end of regulation.
