Germany beats Nigeria to reach Olympics final
SãO PAULO, Aug. 17, 2016 (AMP) — Rio 2016 : Germany reached the Olympics final for the very first time in their history with a 2-0 win against Nigeria (halftime: 1-0) on Wednesday afternoon at the Arena Corinthians in São Paulo.
Germany dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by defender Lukas Klostermann in the 9th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Germans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Petersen with one minute left in regular time.
