1860 Munich had started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Okotie ('26, '33). Trailing 2-0 at half time, Die roten Teufel nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring three times in the second period (Lakic '68 on penalty, '71 and Hofmann '80).
