BANGKOK, Jun. 29, 1996 (AMP) — Emirates 1996 (Qualifiers) : Thailand defeated Burma by a big score of 5-1 (halftime: 5-1), in a qualifying game for the 1996 AFC Asian Cup on Saturday.

The result put the Thai top of Group 3 with 6 points. Burma is third with no points. In their next game, Thailand will meet second-placed Singapore on July 1, while Burma will face the Maldives.
