JEDDAH, Sep. 3, 2006 (AMP) — Southeast Asia 2007 (Qualifiers) : Saudi Arabia defeated Japan by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2007 AFC Asian Cup on Sunday night.

The result put the Saudi top of Group A with 9 points. Japan is second with 6 points. In their next game, Saudi Arabia will meet India on September 6, while Japan will face Yemen.
