ALEPPO, Feb. 22, 2006 (AMP) — Southeast Asia 2007 (Qualifiers) : South Korea defeated Syria by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2007 AFC Asian Cup on Wednesday afternoon.

The result put the Koreans top of Group B with 3 points. In their next game, South Korea will meet Taiwan on August 16, while Syria will face Taiwan.
