SAIDA, Jan. 28, 2009 (AMP) — Qatar 2011 (Qualifiers) : Syria defeated Lebanon by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2011 AFC Asian Cup on Wednesday afternoon.
The result put the Syrians top of Group D with 6 points. Lebanon is bottom with no points. In their next game, Syria will meet third-placed Vietnam on November 14, while Lebanon will face China.
