DURBAN, Jan. 16, 1996 (AMP) — South Africa 1996 : Liberia defeated Gabon by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a AFCON group stage game on Tuesday.

The result put the Liberians top of Group C with 3 points. In their last game, Liberia will meet DR Congo on January 25, while Gabon will face DR Congo.
